Why we do what we do:

 

To better help people understand why we allow some things and not other I have snipped a comment from Gav Thorpe. I hope this helps you understand our thinking.

"Access and prior knowledge is what is important, and no player is going to thank us for officializing a small box out of an article from WD that will soon be unavailable. Imagine your opponent's surprise when, in a tournament next summer, you reveal that your army is led by a character that only exists in an out of print magazine, or hidden away on the website. I suspect the crying of foul would sound loud and proud. It is this kind of 'unwelcome surprise' element that we are endeavoring to eliminate in future rules articles. We cannot keep expanding the rules ad hoc forever, otherwise the system becomes a dog's dinner. Although it was not clear in the article, the intent will be to release rules such as these within a specific context, and to leave it to the experience and preference of players themselves regarding whether they want to try something out beyond that context. Going forward, book= 'official', non-book='unofficial'. There will be exceptions, of course, but these will be few and far between."

Can the Necromancy spell Invocation Of Nehek be cast into HTH?

Yes

 

Daemons of Chaos rules on how to use them:

If you are going to use an ALL daemon army then you are required to use the new Daemons Of Chaos book which is released May 10th. If you are going to use daemons to accent a beast army or mortal army then you are required to use the appropriate book, Beasts Of Chaos or Hordes Of Chaos depending on if you have a Beast Army or Mortal Army. If you are going to have a Daemon army with Beasts or Mortals in it then you must use the Hordes Of Chaos book. You can not use the NEW daemon rules for any army list other than ALL daemons.

 

How does the new Daemon Magic Item "Banner Of Sundering" work?

The banner affects any spell that has a casting value AND where as the wizard or model has to roll to reach that value or exceed the value for the spell to be cast. Tomb Kings, Empire Warrior Priests etc do not apply to this as they do not roll a dice to meet or exceed a casting value even though a dice might be rolled, IE Tomb Kings roll a dice to determine the value that the dispel roll needs to be, but the incantation will go off regardless of the Tomb King player rolling a dice.

How does the "Ork Kustom Force Field" work?

With regards to squads around the Mek using the "Kustom Force Field", at least 50% of a squad needs to be within 6" of the Mek in order for the squad to benefit from the 5+ cover save provided by the field.

What format do you accept for army list submissions?

HTML or Text formats only, no army builder files, if AB files are submitted we will email you back and let you know we need a new one and we will delete the AB file you sent in.

 

Does my army have to completely painted?

Yes

 

Do I have to use GW miniatures?
No - You can use whatever miniature you want to, but make sure it represents the troop type you are representing.
IE - No Ral Partha Paladins representing Orc Warlords!

How do I sign up for the tournament?
Just fill out the registration form on this site and submit on the registration page.

Do I really need to sign up for the Necro GT Forum?
